Deep Tech is having a profound effect on our economic, social and political relations. They say that the algorithm governs us, and that intelligent systems, databases, automated processes are guiding every step we take. This is why in recent years there has been growing concern about regulating advances in fields such as robotics, artificial intelligence or big data on the basis of ethical awareness, just as an ethical framework for biotechnology was defined in the 1970s as soon as genetic engineering and DNA manipulation took off.

Technological developments have no more awareness than that which is programmed into them by researchers and designers, and accepted by users. Shared values such as respect for human dignity, freedom, security, privacy, the pursuit of the common good, inclusion, and non-destructive use will be the basis for future laws and regulations for all these Deep Tech based innovations. Thus these shared values will be programmed, for example, into the autonomous vehicle that must make the best decision in case of an accident involving people. And alongside security, it goes hand in hand with protecting people’s freedom, as well as their privacy and use of data, at a time when cyber security is becoming a priority. However, technological advances that are growing exponentially – thanks to the convergence and maturity of different technologies – sow uncertainty about the ethical dilemmas that will arise in the medium and long term.

From secpho we propose this webinar to know in greater depth which will be the decisions and behaviors that should guide these Deep Tech developments based on that ethical framework. The webinar will have presentations from experts in our country, which will be announced in the coming days.

This free webinar is going to be held in Spanish and the target audience is:

  • CEOs, Operations Managers, Technicians and Innovation Managers of companies from all industry sectors.
  • Researchers from R&D centres and Deep Tech companies.
