On 17th of February, SECPhO participated at the ¨Mission for Growth in Wallonia¨, an event organised in the framework of an initiative of the Vice President of the European Commission Antonio Tajani in cooperation with the Ministry for the Economy of the Walloon Government and with the support of Walloon Clusters and Enterprise Europe Network Wallonia.
The event was aimed at promoting international cooperation between Wallonian and organisations from other European regions working in Spatial & Aerospace, Biotech / pharmaceuticals / life sciences and Photonics sectors. More info about event: http://www.b2match.eu/m4g-wallonia
SECPhO was selected as one of participants for the cluster C2C match making meetings by the organising committee. As a result, SECPhO discussed the possible future collaboration and presented its members to the following organisations:
- Cluster Photonique (55 members);
- ICT cluster INFOPOLE (156 organisations), working in different sectors such as Data transmission, Internet of things, web & software development besides others;
- SKYWIN cluster of aerospace industry (114 members), with 6 focus areas: Composite materials & processes, Metallic materials & processes, Embedded systems, Airport services, Space application systems, and Modelling & simulation;
- Wallonian National Contact Point (NCP) for Horizon2020 programme Bertrand Herry;
- EMC2 cluster for innovative manufacturing technologies from France (215 members);
- Aerospace valley form France (681 members, );
- Open Engineering SA, a company from Wallonia, offering their software that combines optical simulations with the thermal and mechanical properties of optical setup.
Such events help SECPhO to significantly expand its´ network of contacts beyond the photonics sector. This is what the European Commission supports and expects in coming years – cross sectorial collaboration in EU with clusters playing important role as the sector representatives and mediators between SMEs from different countries.
