Connecting R+D, Focusing on Innovation, Food, Internationalisation Workshops, Manufacturing, R&D

Ghana is the fastest growing economy in 2019 according to the International Monetary Fund. Its success is based mainly on the development of mining, oil industry, agriculture and timber industry.

This summer in July, secpho participated in the workshop on technological innovation in Ghana organised by the ACCIÓ office in Accra in cooperation with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI). Through Skype we presented the cluster and how we could contribute to the digitization of the Ghanaian industry. It was the first approach to the market of this African country, which is in full economic development and offering numerous internationalization opportunities for Spanish companies.

The participants of the workshop focused on challenges for Ghanaian manufacturing innovation and potential 4.0 industry solutions (digital and robotics). Secpho is committed to fostering collaboration between Ghanaian partners and entities in order to initiate innovation projects in the most important industrial sectors for this African country.

As a follow-up to the workshop, we also prepared the promotional materials for the Ghana Industrial Summit & Exhibition – Edition 2019 (GISE 2019) that were distributed by ACCIÓ during the fair, from 10 to 12 September.

With this day we started a new cluster program (secpho in Ghana) focusing on the search for business and scientific cooperation with Western African entities.
