SECPhO has a group of partners at various institutional levels who robustly drive its actions and provide vital resources for its growth models.

European Union

The European Union runs programmes through the European Commission to support the economic development of member states. Clusters have been defined by the European Commission as an essential tool in boosting regional competitiveness. In the beginning of 2013 SECPhO obtained a Bronze Label in Excellence of Cluster management, a certificate that recognizes a high level of cluster organisation and activities. Moreover, SECPhO maintains outstanding relations with the European Commission’s Photonics Unit and with the network of European photonics clusters. SECPhO’s objective in this area is to team up with other European photonics clusters as a bridge for partnership between SMEs from different countries.

Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism

When it was set up as a cluster, SECPhO had a strategic plan in place to apply for inclusion in the Innovative Business Associations (AEI) registry. Over these years SECPhO has shown that it is a very active association which promotes innovation and enhances competitiveness in its sector. In 2013 SECPhO renewed its ties with the Ministry of Industry by presenting a strategic plan for the period 2014-2017 which has been accepted and evaluated as excellent.

ACCIÓ. Government of Catalonia

ACCIÓ, the Catalan Government’s Agency for Innovation and Internationalisation, has been firmly committed to a clusters strategy in Catalonia since 1993. SECPhO has been part of the Catalan cluster network since its beginning in 2009 and has always received significant support from ACCIÓ in terms of funding, promotion of the cluster and its members, and support programmes and training for the cluster staff.

Orbital.40 – Science and Technology Park of Terrassa

O.40 promotes increased business competitiveness and talent attraction and retention in Terrassa by means of creation of new spaces in an optimal environment  for the development of R&D activities and knowledge and technology transfer to innovative industries. Since the beginning, SECPhO has received significant support from Orbital.40. SECPhO is now not only an O.40 member but also has an office at its facilities.
