Radiantis is a leading manufacturer of state-of-the-art solid-state lasers and optical parametric oscillators which find sophisticated applications in non-linear microscopy and advanced research. Since 2006, the company´s innovative products have been installed at many prestigious Universities and research centers worldwide. There is currently a requirement for a general engineer who will contribute to the development of new automated laser systems and the improvement and upgrade of exisitng ones.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
The position is for a general engineer to join our R&D team developing laser instruments. The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Control and automation of brand new lasers and optical parametric oscillators and upgrade and customisation of the existing products.
- Mechanical design of new and existing products. Generation of CAD drawings.
- Management of the design and development of analog and digital electronics circuits.
- Characterisation of prototypes and assistance in the successful transition of these solutions into manufacturing.
- Support to service of products already in the field and to the installation of new ones. This work is done mainly remotely but can require traveling in specific ocassions.
Knowledge/Skills/Requirements
The successful candidate should be self-motivated and able to work within a small but dynamic team. The candidate should take on the responsibility for the success of the assigned projects.
- A PhD degree in Engineering or Physics is preferred although a Master´s degree with the required skills and experience will be considered.
- Advanced knowledge of laser control and automation, especially programming in Labview, is required. Writing low-level drivers would be an advantage.
- Advanced knowledge on electronic design, sufficient to be competent in managing the design of new circuits and the improvement of existing ones.
- Experience with “Inventor” for mechanical design and practical experience developing lasers would be advantageous.
- Industry experience would be beneficial.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Understanding of Spanish would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to support some installation and service trips.
