Gestamp is a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of metal components and units for the leading car manufacturers. During the process of conception, design and production of a product, Gestamp focus on reducing weight and increasing passive safety. The company develops and manufactures three lines of products:

1. Body: The body is the essential structure of the vehicle. The vehicle body is made from stamped metal parts which are subsequently welded together. Metal body components are classified into external parts, such as such as bonnets, roofs, doors and wings, and structural parts that include floors, pillars, struts and wheel arches.

2. Chassis: The lower part of the vehicle’s body structure is formed by the chassis; its design is determined by body weight and load distribution. Axles and suspension arms are good examples of chassis products.

3. Mechanisms: After the acquisition of Edscha in 2010, Gestamp has become a leader company in the production of mechanisms with a broad product portfolio that includes mechanical components such as door hinges and door checks, powered systems and driver controls.

Photonics is one of the areas where Gestamp is continuously developing  new innovative solutions for our products. Gestamp has R+D facilities equipped with the latest lasers generators and devices in the market, with a wide experience in laser technologies like Remote Laser Welding, Tailored Welded Blanks, Cutting, Heat Treatments or Laser Metal Deposition.
