LORTEK is a non-profit research institute that was set up with a clear commitment of acquiring knowledge and expertise in materials, manufacturing processes and joining technologies for further transferring it to industry.

The centre is able to offer completely adapted and innovative solutions for the industry, from research to industrialization. We are an open institution with a clear globalised vocation: for science and technology progress, international cooperation is a must. LORTEK belongs to the Basque Research & Technology Alliance which is one of the biggest scientific alliance in Europe (1,400 researchers, 100 M€ income) and is part of Mondragon Industrial Corporation, one of the biggest industrial corporations in Spain.

LORTEK is actively participating directly or indirectly (via Basque Research & Technology Alliance and Mondragon Industrial Corporation) in different European Initiatives, such as, EFFRA/Manufuture, Photonics, EuRobotics, Big Data, Green Vehicle and Clean Sky, among others.
